Drinking Water Can Help You Burn Bodyfat

In everyday life, drinking water is vital. But did you know that drinking water helps burn body fat, too? People who are dehydrated generally experience a significant drop in their metabolic rate, which also decreases the amount of fat they burn. If you are completely hydrated, you are at your optimum fat burning rate.

Drinking cold water also increases your metabolic rate because the body spends more energy warming the water up to body temperature. An extra two cups of water in between meals is enough to raise your fat burning rate.

The International Sports Medical Institute has a formula that states you need “½ ounce per pound of body weight if you’re not active (that’s ten eight ounce glasses of water if you weigh 160 pounds), and 2/3 ounce per pound if you’re athletic (13 to 14 glasses a day at the same weight.” If you can consume about eight to ten glasses of water each day, then you will be on your way to a healthier and leaner body.

The less water you drink, the slower your metabolism will be, and vice versa. Also, drinking water regularly suppresses appetite and food binges throughout the day. Your body needs about 60 percent of water and if you don’t drink it enough then your body believes it is in danger and tries to hold onto the water it gets. Just think to yourself: the more water you consume, the less food you will eat.

Quite frankly, water is the best natural appetite suppressant.
